Feathers ~ continued

I'm still at it. This time with a cluster of three feathers, new colors in my atomizer bottles(Phthalo turquoise, indigo and green gold) and more of my homemade stamps. I've got this 'thing' for metallics right now so I've been trying to find ways to incorporate them into my work.

Your work is inspirational-love the feathers, and what you are doing with them. They would be great as images for note cards.

Thanks, Anita.:) I'd love to use the actual feathers in my artwork but there are laws against selling (or even having possession of) wild bird feathers. I collected mine over the years from off the ground and roadkill but apparently that doesn't matter.

I know about that law, and it frustrates me that we cannot (legally) collect feathers we see blowing in the wind. I understand that the cost of being caught breaking that law can be hefty. A woman in my mother's home town discovered that, when she used actual Eagle feathers in some artwork she offered for sale in a local shop. It made the newspapers!

What I don't understand is how easy it is to order wild bird feathers online. I did a search just out of curiosity and had no problem finding a source. The contact number was in Fresno no less. Go figure...
