My Sunflowers~WIP value study

I finished my value study. I was most interested to see if I still had good distribution of the lightest and darkest values after making my changes and I believe I do. There's nice undulating horizontal flow, my eye isn't lead out of the picture in any direction nor are there areas that grab attention away from the composition as a whole. The main focal point is the dead sunflower on the viewer's left which was my intention.

You've got a lovely movement through this composition,Billie. I can't wait to see how you tackle the final piece.

I'm still undecided as to how I'm going to tackle this with watercolor, Julie. I'm trying to gather as much information by doing these studies as I can now so whichever way I choose to go I'll know what is needed.

This is a new approach for me, Robyn. I'm taking it slow for once in hopes this will turn out well the first time around.

Thanks, Vera.:) Your sunflowers were my inspiration. Hold on cuz this will be awhile in the making. I need to get myself a bigger board to tape my paper on(my sketch is hanging off both sides of my largest board)and after much consideration I realize I'm going to have to order another masque pen or two. I don't see any way to avoid using masking.
