I've asked myself why, when looking for subjects I tend to always go back to cats. I met a man from Dubai a few years ago. He was a longtime pen pal of my best friend, Betsy. They had been writing to each other for over 40 years and finally got the chance to meet face-to-face when he brought his son to Windsor, Canada to enter the university there. I made the journey with her to Windsor and had the pleasure of meeting him, too. He and his wife are originally from India and his wife is still a practicing Hindu. He's a lovely, gentle tempered man and was aware of my artwork. He said to me one day, "You know....Billie is the Hindu word for cat". I looked it up and sure enough...he was right! Coincidence?

Wonderful story - it was obviously written in the stars ago that you should be a cat painter!
maybe, Anita. weird, huh?
That explains a lot. Its destined for you to keep on painting cats!
it may well be my destiny, Jeanette. not a bad one, tho. i really enjoy painting them.
Do you have the book "Why Do Cats Paint?" (I think that's the title) I have that somewhere around here. Cats are Nature's masterpiece.
I like the color in the new painting, but the black/grey version was beautiful too. Is there a storybook in the works? Easy to self-publish now...
Nick, i don't have the book but i'm aware of it. i added a post awhile back about the book "Why Paint Cats?" which is really a spoof. funny stuff, though!
I agree...i liked the blk/wht version a lot but the dark palette looked rather monotone when i painted it. i may try this one again in the future with darker, more varied colors. the photo i posted here really doesn't do it justice, tho. poor crop(out of necessity) and i lost a lot of color for some reason.
a book? i have thought about that one. i know there's a story here somewhere and i've been told that i write 'fairly' well. it's a consideration......
