Mighty Mack ~ WIP 3

Latest update. I'm making progress slowly but surely. What I'm really glad about is the suspension cables. They don't look like writhing snakes(thankfully). I'm getting more confident with my brush strokes by working on this project, too. It's so dark and gloomy here I finally had to turn the lights on at 3:30pm so I took this photo with flash. Wow, does flash make every little flaw become glaring or what?! Anyhoo, I hope to have this completed in a few days. Does it look intimidating yet? I'm hoping ultimately to achieve 'foreboding'.

You are already on the way to foreboding! The perspective is doing that for you, I think. Of course, the early darkness here as well as there does play into the feeling.
Can't see your flaws, looks good. I like the minimal color of the yellow horizon: are you going to stay with the monochrome look? Also, how big is this? Have you already posted the size?

Good, Katherine! Mission almost accomplished. I'm going to try and stick with the limited palette except for the guard railing which is blue. The towers are actually a golden color, as you may already know, so I want to make this identifiable as the Mighty Mac hence the blue railings. The size is approx. 15" x 22".

I love seeing your progress Billie! I am working on a mixed media painting of the Golden Gate Bridge myself but haven't tackled the suspension cables yet.I need to practice drawing lines first ;-)

Thanks, Kitty. :) I love your Golden Gate Bridge collage! I took a peek at it and decided to follow you. I also work with alcohol ink (as you may have noticed) and I want to try my hand at collage again. I'll be watching your work as well.
