Sweet Tea ~ WIP 5

Another update. I finally completed the background. I did wind up requesting feedback on a critique forum but didn't get much help. I decided I was wasting time and probably overthinking things so one sunny afternoon I sat down and just banged it out. I've since added a pale blue wash to the sky and will probably add another before completing the leaves on the trees. Whenever I sit down to paint I'm always tweaking one or more of the girls. I can't help myself. If I'm not painting on this portrait I'm staring at it, continually seeing things I've missed or need improving. I'm guessing the biggest problem I'm going to face with this undertaking is deciding when it's done.

Note: the shawl tablecloth isn't bright yellow. It's yellow ochre.

I love the background because I love trees!! Can't wait to hang it.

I have a "throw" on my couch the same color and with tassels as the tablecloth--NEAT-O!!

My sister,EVA, told me to tell you that she loves this painting and thinks it is beautiful, also.

I bought Holly a "steam punk" necklace at my sister's shop today for her prize in winning the "Sweet Tea" title contest.

Again--thanks Billie for this wonderful work. Katherine

Hey, Katherine! I'm so glad you like it so far.:) Tell Eva "thank you" for me. I've begun adding the leaves on the trees and will probably start pecking away at the foreground in the next few days. It feels good to not be rushed so I can think each addition through before putting paint to paper.

Hello Billie:) Wow that background is wonderful! Maybe a little bit more blue in the sky? Such a beautiful painting. The receiver must be very happy with it!
Have a nice weekend:) Don't stare to much!
