Berries & Birch~photo

Because of the odd weather last summer there were no ash berries. This year the mountain ash that flanks the birch trees across my drive is loaded with berries and I snapped this shot which I wanted to share. I love the colors of the berries and mountain ash leaves, the white flash of the birch bark and the Fall colors of the birch leaves. The color combination is amazing and looks bright, even on a rainy day. This may be inspiration for a future painting or just give me ideas for color combinations.

I love these berries in the fall, the shot of colour is wonderful.

Here they're called dogberries for some reason, no idea why, but the same tree.

Last year the trees were absolutely laden with berries, this year I think there were two bunches on the tree in the front yard. Then again we had a dismal spring/summer which is no doubt the reason why.

We've seen the opposite here weatherwise, Jeanette. Last year summer never quite arrived, this year it came early. The weather patterns are certainly changing. I'm glad I caught this shot. We're expecting a big blow tomorrow. Fortunately there's still no snow in the forecast. Yay!

Beautiful Billie. I don't think we have a bush like that here. Is this the same bush that you painted in the winter last year?
Hope all is well

One and the same, Robin. I thought I'd chronicle the trees through the seasons as I look at them every single day.
