Here's my bassett hound. The reference photo I used is from the WC RIL, courtesy of Bigs. I'm not sure I'm happy with the background yet. It may require further tweaking. I may change the crop, too. Not sure yet. He's certainly colorful, isn't he? This is also painted on Arches 140# HP w/c paper. The dimensions are still to be determined.
This is wonderful. I love those sad, sad eyes. You've got him down pat. Your dog series is coming on beautifully. You know, these and the cats would do well as cards in some stores.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jeanette.:) I do plan to offer these latest paintings as cards. The Catitude series is still selling pretty well.
ReplyDeleteYou really did nail him, and that drip is perfect! I just saw that you like Rear Window - my fave Hitch film.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nick.:) If any of these latest paintings had to have a few drips, this one did. I thought about adding more but didn't want to overdo it.
ReplyDeleteI love Rear Window! I never get tired of it. I think it's Hitch's best by far. It's my go-to movie when nothing else is on. Had to purchase it on VHS tape from Amazon but oh well.
I love the face Billie, it's so cute even though it's sad.
ReplyDeleteGreat job,
Mike
Thank you, Mike!:)
ReplyDeletelol oh my gosh his expression is priceless! Great job and love the colors again, you are on a roll Billie :)
ReplyDeleteYup, I'm on a bit of a roll, Tracey. Thank you for your comment! I believe doing the pours and working on alternate surfaces has finally helped me to begin loosening up. These are a lot of fun to paint and go quickly, which I love.
ReplyDeleteI'd have to say it's the best by far also IMO. After that, in no particular order, I'd say Strangers On A Train, Rope, NBNW, Vertigo, Frenzy, Birds, Dial M. But Rear Window is the best for me..hope you never had to suffer through the dreadful remake.
ReplyDeleteThey did a remake??!! You can bet I won't be seeing it.
ReplyDeleteso expressive Billie!!! i wanted to comment the other night but it was getting v late.. i just had to come back and say BRILLIANT!
ReplyDeleteThe drip, i must say in agreeing with Nick is perfetto!
Thank you, Perugina!:) I had to do at least one bassett hound. I adore their sad eyes.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great painting!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Deb! Isn't he the saddest looking thang.:D I love bassetts.
