Recently Robin Neudorfer sent me a link to Twinrocker Handmade Paper. I've been interested in trying out different papers for ink and watercolor...particularily tinted papers. I like the look of certain ink and watercolor washes on antique-y(?) looking backgrounds. Twinrocker offers a variety of papers including watercolor paper and their prices are very reasonable. They also offer two different sample swatch sets for $15 and $30. I ordered the $30 set and can't wait to see what the possibilities are with these papers. I'll keep you posted.
I also like that look and have often tinted paper myself. but I think it's better if it's already done for you. Never used Twinrocker...thanks for the post, I might check it out.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping it's what i'm looking for. can't wait for the samples to arrive. i'll probably wind up with a lot of samples that won't work for my purposes. who knows. it'll be like Xmas. thanks for posting a reply as i just realized i spelled the name of the company incorrectly. ooops....
ReplyDeleteBillie, I can hardly wait to see what you will be doing with these papers.
ReplyDeleteI have been playing around with ink and WC on paper because of a new book I have about style and composition. The book is buy Pat Dues and I am having a wonderful time with it.
i can hardly wait to see what i do with this paper too, Mary. maybe you can share some tips with me from your book?
ReplyDeleteAren't new papers such fun? I love playing around with different surfaces. I'm sure you'll do something wonderful with them.
ReplyDeletei am excited to see what this paper is like, Jeanette. right now i'm working 'brush on paper' with Arches HP and discovering how to better handle it. looking back, i'm glad i bought the Uno. it got me out of a rut, so to speak. it feels good to be more adventurous.
ReplyDeletecool I look forward to seeing your results :) I would like to try clayboard in the near future as well as it sounds very interesting. It has a similar texture to cold press watercolor and you can seal it so it does not need to be behind glass.
ReplyDeleteI love handmade papers. I have a great collection but have never used them for anything because I just love the paper! Can't wait to see what you do with these.
ReplyDeleteHi Tracey and Anita.:D i'm not entirely sure how big these samples will be. i ordered w/o contacting the company by phone first. i hope they are large enough to experiment on!
